So decided i would replace my clutch plates/springs, no problems there. Bolted it all back up topped up oil and coolant and kicked her over and this

http://youtu.be/rQkU3k_abOY

I have a haynes and put the kickstart back from what i can see correctly, with the friction pin in the little hole.

The gear on the kickstart shaft does seem to disenage with about half a mill clearence with the case off.

This one is really puzzling me had the case off a few times now and keep having same problem.

Will snap some pics of inside when i take it off again.

All help/suggestions appretciated thanks shottiwink

thanks for your help, the spring is in the correct place im starting to think maybe the friction pin is bent.

here is a vid with the crank case off it seems to want to go back further it's only clearin g the idle gear by less than 1mm

http://youtu.be/vqRPaT9LsOU this is the kickstart installed with the crank off

this one has really got me annoyed never been off road before, and really ashamed to say ive messed up my bike bleh

dont know all the correct terms or names for things but do know I have done this once or twice myself and it has always come down to that spring on the shaft either winding it on to tight/lose but know after fiddling with it I some how got it right and all was well ..

sure some one may come along and give more technical terms and the correct way it should be sett ect .

I usually locate the shaft and make sure its all meshed in then twist the spring into place, should just drop in.

maybe your winding the spring round to tight it being to tightly wound round can affect how things come out to kick then drop back once running thats the sound your hearing in the first vide is the cog thingy not going back in to place ..

also that clip thing I had problems with not being in the right place or faceing the wrong direction  item 3 on this pic http://dt125r.activeboard.com/t49747013/dt125r-kickstart-assembly-parts-breakdown/
