Does anyone do it ? what are the advantages and disavantages of it ?

I clutch-less up shift all the time on my CB500 and have done on the DTR when I'm riding them hard/agressive acceleration.
The advantages are a very quick smooth up shift, maximising acceleration with very little down time of the engines power by keeping the clutch engaged to the final drive. ie. no losses from minute slipping.
I don't think there is any disadvantages per say, just a few things to keep in mind, I believe its mostly a technique for use under hard to full throttle. Its probably not the best idea to change up while cornering moderately hard and while at peak power, in this situation you wont loose much by using the clutch. You probably only want to do this when the engine is warm.
And of course you should be pretty confident of the condition of your gearbox, I would only clutchless shift on an engine I know to be healthy. Keeping your chain at the correct tension, an over slack chain might cause some snatching.
I've been told in the past that it causes no damage at all, but take it under advisement, it should cause no damage/wear if done correctly. Shut throttle, shift up, open throttle at full to high positive positions. I cant speak first hand of any wear or failure as I have never noticed any on my bikes.
Personally i shift very fast. Would be interested in seeing lap times with and without clutch. I suspect its minimal. Vital in race conditions, negligible in road usage.
as far as im aware they use quick shifters on race bikes witch means u can keep the throatal open fully when shifting without the clutch as it cuts either the injectors or the coils from sparking.
that way there is no time wasted letting the throttle on or off that is mainly wear time is lost.
so without a quick shiftier using a clutch or no clutch will be the same as you are still letting off the throttle. the problem comes in when you do it wrong and grind the gears/ excessive gear box wear arfter a wile
Ive always changed gear without clutch whilst riding hard, be carefull though as I span out on a corner when I hit the powerband and changed up whilst in the band.. lol was a scary thing. But I do it on the NSR and its seamless and when I've got my helmet on and thrashing it, it sounds the tits when going through the box. :D
i clutchless shift when i'm proper going for it, as it just feels more natural, obviously round town and that sort of shiz i use the clutch, havent blown a gearbox yet and done it on all my bikes.
Cal mate, My NSR got pinned everywhere once warmed up. I was always late going to work so made up for it by hitting 90+ everywhere. Mind you, it finally gave up on Friday night and grinded to a halt. RIP that top end.
Good thread topic Danny mate! My Dad and uncle have always said it does no damage at all to the gearbox while shifting up (if done correctly).... However, shifting down without clutch will f*ck the gearbox up good and proper! I have still yet to go full tilt without using the clutch cuz I'm like a ninja with fast clutch shifts Will try it out next time I'm out for a good blast on the motorway and see if there's any difference! I'd still be paranoid about doing damage to the gearbox though So will probably end up clutching in sub-consciously! haha!
Warm mine up properly and apart from the warm up / low on fuel periods I'm always hitting the band and shifting at 9-10K RPMs. A good 10 minute ticking over warm-up then ride it easy for about a mile then pin it. Running fine. Only blown 2 topends and 1 bottom end so far. Mind you, oil pump was wrecked so not my fault.
Edit:
Also just to add, I've shifted up the box without the clutch once or twice. No real gains tbh. Can shift just as quick with the clutch. Two fingers on the clutch, adjust it so it releases right at the end and you can shift quick. All about technique.

Yeh iv'e Tried it and it does make a difference, but im not going to carry on because i know it will end up damaging my gearbox

so i was trying it on my little blast around the hood this arfternoon and tbh it feels the exact same on my dt with or without clutch because i have the biteing point quite far out so i can use 2 fingers all the times non of this touching the bar crap so a little blip of the clutch does not make a difference
