Getting my aprilia ready for mot I noticed the lights on these things are on all the time (dipped) however I also noticed the rear light was off but upon pulling in the brake it lights up!

swiftly ordered a new bulb and fitted now the rear is on All the time with the head lights but now I go to pull in the brake and there is hardly any difference in how much light is emitted! I've pulled the bulb out in its plastic housing noticed the lower filament is live with the lights but its the taller one that lights when brake pulled however there is hardly any difference

im worried it fails.

ive bought pirelli roso II tyres, sprocket and chain kit and a couple of other bits

its a 2006 factory full power unmolested aprilia rs125

cheers

ken

sounds like you've got the wires for the brake light and tail light the wrong way round, is the rear light standard? There should be 3 wires to it two lives and an earth, just try swapping them over

Yeh mate absolutely standard, there is a plastic plug that can only go one way and all wires look untouched!!
Wonder if its me being paranoid! - I beat have a look in the dark see what it's like
