Hi all here i'm new here heres my new / old DTR,

This is my 1st DT and as I am getting old thought I had to have it they must of seen me coming but got to make the most of it don't have much to spend on it so trying to make the most of a bad situation !

Had a few RXS 100 in the past and had fun with my old Typhoon 125 but this is my first crosser style bike want to get it reliable as I can need the 3 wire YPVS servo fitted and bidding on a new loom as its just made of old kettle wires !

Will probly end up asking loads of stupid noobish questions as everything on it needs some tlc so please help if you can hoping NEV can help as hes fairly local !!

Looks like this was WestHamFans old bike from this forum that was stolen and recovered so trying to get it back to normal fixing what the thieves broke and hoping she can be a nice bike again

Loom ended up being wrong looks like its a tzr loom and not worth my time trying to rewire it so waiting for another loom to come in the post. If anyone needs a tzr loom let me now see if it will work for you ?

Other than that still pretty much dead in the water due to finances currently trying to sort the pv out and maybe attach a servo but the pv is seized or something as it wont spin at all.

If any one in the Torbay area has a few parts I can test and maybe borrow for the mot would be muchly apreciated will add more pics soon when I get back in the swing of things.

Damn thats a shame.

Poor dt looking sorry for itself. Looks like it needs a fair bit of work doing to it i'm afraid to say :(

With a bit of luck and elbow grease you should be able to sort it.

Worth going down the local scrappy. Dt's are common down there and parts can be easily obtained.

A guy from portugal sells dt panels and graphics. For a reasonable price you can get a full set of plastics and graphics and the bike would look mint guaranteed!

Cheers Cal tried down Roger Neales but just aint the same as Rogers old place and Terry didnt have no dt bits so having to ebay most of it trying to rub down the panels atm see if I can get them to shine up again if not will give them a proper paint when funds are a bit better want to do the frame gold or purple ! but still debating might ps some pics up see what it looks like again waiting on funds.

Was hoping to get it moted before I strip it right down so I can take her on the road as I rebuild plus everything I touch or undo is a bit of a can of worms.
I had a look at the portugal guys stuff and looks promising for when shes done to give her some new panels etc just trying to make do with what ive got for now.

Just looking for local peeps atm with same model so I can compare stuff and get her set up right as ive never had a crosser before and dont have the right equipment to hand.

Hopefully will be able to add some more pics soon and get this project rolling so stay tuned !!

Just fire away with the Q's. This site has pretty much seen everything so do have a look before posting but if it's not there or if it's lost amongst stuff or it's unclear then be sure to ask. I'm on everyday and can answer most questions if not someone else will.

Really need to update my thread so just going to add a list of things ive done so far off the top of my head havent took many pics due to the weather shes slowly on the mend and with some help from some fellow forum members the futures looking much brighter :)

Sorted so far !!
Puncture fixed, Paint off panels still work in progress getting them nice or respraying, New battery, Rectifier sorted 3rd time lucky !!

Newish loom attached and now seems to be fully working just waing on some proper connections to come in the post and then a proper tidy up,

New Ignition all working, Front brake master cylinder replaced and new piston and seals in caliper plus bleed nipple drilled as much as poss and sorted a kind of bleed screw ! Unfortunately caliper seal hasnt took and is now leaking :(

Bent rad bracket replaced, Rear brake switch replaced, PV servo and cables attached trouble is 5 wire version but at least holds PV where I want it for now and was a steal virtually brand new so either going to get a controller box or sell it on if funds find a 3 wire servo.

PV freed as was stuck but now need right side cap and collar plus helicoiling the threads waiting on my engineer to have free time.

Bought some clocks but seller let me down but refunded shame as they were in great condition I rekon they resold them as got a bargain on them then couldnt find any others so bought me some TDR clocks cheap but forgot about there fitting into the fairing was going to make up some brackets but been helped my another member and got some DT clocks in the post :)

Thats just a few things off the top of my head lots more to do need to get hold of a stand so I can work on her better as want to do a proper strip down but going to get her motable first so I can give her a proper run to see how the engine feels.

Still got to get exhaust stud fitted as think threads stripped and need to check up the port as when I was doing the PV the piston felt like it had no lower rings but didnt check properly as was gale force then heavens opened so rushed the PV back together untill I can have a proper look.

Working on getting headlight sorted as dont think clocks are going to fit with my current set up !
Got to replace the chain gurd could do with new chain and sprockets need to inspect and replace wheel swingarm and head bearings but hoping there ok.
Could do with replacing both calipers as think the warped piston has ruined the front and rear has a hole in it.

Forks seem ok but want to give them proper looking at no leaks but feel too spongie.

Once all thats sorted going to give the frame a good clean up and respray might go purple and redo the wheels thinking of black swingarm and a few extra purple parts that VHT high temp paint looks like the best option as can't afford to sandblast and powdercoat let me know if anyones had any luck with it on the past !

Probly lots more ive forgot but just keep throwing money at her atm and hoping for the best really need to stop being impatient and wasting time and money on her just so looking forward to getting her on the road.
