Alright guys. After yet another close call with an old person and their car, I wanna get a helmet cam. I know its been discussed on here before but I just wondered if anyone has any recommendations. I know the go-pros are good but bit expensive for me so was just wondering if there are any alternative. Good picture quality is a must. Cheers in advance Dave

Go pro do something called a white edition. Its their base model. The video quality is superb ands like half the price of a better go pro. I bought go pro hero 3 white edition and its really good. Built in wifi and exceptional quality.

For £80 you can get a 2mp helmet cam called muvi. No where near as good as the go pro. You could get a used go pro for that much.

It's worth paying extra to get the gopro because they can put up in a fight! I crashed a kx125 at about 45-50 and landed staight on the gopro and it was fine! Rather that then some cheap piece of Sh!t braking and you having no evidence!

Don't rule out the DriftHD170 either, i can vouch for its durability, highsided on the ninja with landing on it, after being about 6 foot in the air lmao, and when i broke my wrist i ended up sliding on the camera for about 10 foot, Only had a few scratches!

There are a few equivalent cameras like the contour hd. I was considering one of those.

I don't really use my gopro. Don't have anything of interest to film :(

If it's for insurance purposes aren't you after something that automatically overwrites to stop the memory card getting full?
