one last week was knocked out by baseball bat!! when is this gonna stop? Sad times for us in NHS front line- yet general public think we are paid well, good pensions etc etc..they never see the real work we do, unless they on the end receiving our help!
intrigued to hear peoples thoughts on the subject- not just paramedics getting abused, but fire/police/nursing staff?
****ing disgusting behaviour. Before I was arrested for defending myself and charged with GBH I was planning joining the police force or being a paramedic. The police where I live are complete pricks but I wouldn't wish this on them either. Imagine if there was no frontline NHS support and everyone who got attacked or shot or stabbed had to lay there bleeding with no help from the outside of their own family or friends. They soon buck up their ideas then. I read it was a drunken person too, ****ing idiots not being able to handle their drink and looking for a punch up. In the back of the ambulance too, your mate should have given him more reasons to be taken to hospital..
they should be upgraded to almost police with the power to arrest and cuff people .
that said there are good and bad in the nhs these days .
my wifes grandmother is in hospital at the moment after falling almost every day they will not allow us to wash or bath her and when my wife said to what seemed like a imgrunt nurse can you pls give my gran a bath she replied---well Im no washing her and walked away .
but true the world is criminals and scum have the upper hand just like kids knowing they can do almost anything with out fear of being smacked or delt with .
you hit a copper and its assult pc and they throw the book at ya this should be the same for nhs staff .
yep definately agree there is good and bad!! experienced both sides of the coin throughout my life..but it seems we have now gone to far forward to even try to turn things around now.
I go to work with the expectation of now getting abused each shift...thats a sad fact, but also very true.
common sense or rationality no longer exists in this country/ world in fact- too many rights for those that dont deserve them in the first place!
no sooner than a week later from above incident- i had another colleague put in hospital- attacked by a drunk -left with fractured skull!! seems to be a daily occurance we get abused/spat at/pushed/kicked etc.
Utter disgrace. I am all for getting an island somewhere in the west of scotland, electrify the water around it and just off load all this scum off on it once a week and let them get on with it themselves and let the winter finish them off,
