hi there i have just put a 2007 engine and wiring loom into my dt everythings wired up all the dash lights up neutral and oil light comes on powervalve also makes that noise, but now when i press the startor button i get nothing it also has no spark when i bridge the startor solenoid it turns over but with no spark any help would be appreciated
Ive put the sidestand down also held brake and clutch lever in kill switch is in correct position still nothing
also before i removed engine and loom from the other bike it was perfect startor so its diffently something i have done wrong
Got a electrical fault somewhere then. Worst thing to get on bikes. Just have to keep trying to get it to spark. Total nightmare talking from experience. Walk away and leave it and come back to it fresh headed, sometimes helps
so when you push the button the engine dsnt turn over? might be the solenoid. make sure that the fuses and connectons are all good. also the wires and connectors from the stator, i had a wire that split just when it comes out from the case
Over time water gets in the kill switch and corrodes it cause it is far from water proof. I have taken mines apart and cleaned the switch to yellow shiny metal.
yep no power from electric start when i press button, i cant see anything wrong with solenoid as the bike i removed engine and loom from was a 1st time startor its something i have done or not done properly also when i bridge the solenoid im not getting no spark either so im thinking the problem may be linked ????
check the wires going into the solenoid and clean the connectors, i tent to use that engine start spray on the conectors as it cleans them really well and dries out instantly, make sure all the connections are good
ok mate how do i short the side stand ? also all ignition comes on neutral light and oil light also powervalve makes that noise just no power when i press start button
has anyone got a picture of the startor solenoid as ive noticed on the one were the battery lead goes too theres a silver clip where as the other one hasnt
had a little look over it today got the electricial tester out, ive got a live of all the wires on the white plug and the battery wire going to solenoid but no live where the startor wires goes to solenoid??
but there should be if you say if you short it than it spins so the wire should be good, there wnt be a live there. imagine the solenoid working like a switch on your wall, when you press the starter button its like you fliped your wall switch and the power goes through, did you make sure the fuse works ? and the socket for it is good and clean? have you got another solenoid that you can try? you can get one for around 15 quid, ones from yamaha tw are the same, i have got one of them on my bike,
