The carb warmer pipes?

They're about the same size as the overflow pipe. At least that's all I used and I've never had a problem.

I bought a few metres of this stuff.

Bit flexible but has held up well. DON'T use it as a fuel line lmao! It kept kinking and cutting fuel. And then eventually snapped lol. But i've used it as coolant for a long time.

 

For the fuel overflow you'll need a special one that won't dissolve in petrol.

 

Ebay will give you lots of results here. My recommendation would be to get some type of braided hose. Something with a bit of strength.

 

Could also get some stainless steel braid overlay. Can look really effective. Someone on here done it and it looked sweet as!

anyone know what size the 2 thinner coolant pipes are not the 2 fat ones that run from the rad its the inner diameter of the 2 that run to the carb i need cheers

thanks for the link bud. it must be bigger than the overflow pipe as just looking at it i can see its a lot bigger its the internal size i need i dont want to pull mine of as its full of coolant haha

You'll find actually mate that you won't loose much coolant. The water will create a vacuum if you leave the rad lid on you will only loose coolant that isn't held in by the vacuum. And thus you won't actually loose much at all.

Like I said, I bought 10mm and just used cable ties and I've never had a problem. Perhaps a little too easy to get on but with the cable ties it's been sound.

One thing I will say is this. I thought red would be really cool. I mean yeah it's alright but they don't half get dirty quickly Especially if you're working on it loads like me lol

haha yeh my red rubber plug cap stayed clean the whole of 5 mins haha. im getting blue to match the rad pipes and carb vent/fuel pipes. iv'e messaged a mate who has a dt in parts i hope he can have a quick measure. if 10mm went on easy maybe its just a bit smaller

Yeah it's a good crack and a good community. Lots of very helpful people on here. Lots of information too. Some special services here as well. We've got a guy that rebuilds these engines a lot cheaper than it would if you took it to a dealer. He's usually open to do jobs and has always had top a1 feedback. Also got lots of people here with spares that can do nice discounts. So it's worth being active on especially if this is your main mode of transport or you're doing a nice project.

Yeah tidy man.

This was my first forum I ever used about 2 years ago and just got sucked in to it. Addictive. I'm on a few others but only to spread the work of my project. Bit selfish but o well.
