Hi guys,

Just got what was described as a DTR125 Cdi but after a little bit of googling think its a TZR125 !

Its got DT125LC  LW&BR etched into the top and had 11 wires just wondering if anyone has any experience with this unit and if it will plug straight into a 93 DTR?

Can add some pics if needed just hoping I have not wasted more money on my bike as funds are very low and i'm still not on the road.

Should be able to splice it. The powervalve controller may not work.

Was going to have a look when the rain stops but wanted to know if anyones used one before I go butchering it to fit as it has all the orig connectors and is in pretty good condition would it be worth using it or just continue with my old one ?

My servo is disconnected due to not being able to find a 3 wire so not bothered about that at present been trying to find info onit think it may rev higher but cant test that either till I get a tacho cable.

Well it's just a box that controls the spark at TDC so it's not like it won't work altogether. It just may not be very good.

Been in contact with the seller and says he has another marked dtr he could send out if I sent him it back this one do you know of any gains using a TZR cdi on a dt or is it best to just use a DTR one?

Please close this thread if possible I managed to get out and have a proper look and dug out the haynes seems I would need to change the coil to fit as this cdi is 3 wire thanks again Callum for the help the seller has agreed to send me out another so heres hoping its the correct one this time.

No necessarily mate. I was going to use my dtre ignition on a tzr engine. But have opted for a custom one instead.
