aparantly had a full engine rebuild, sm using aprilia wheels, and looks  like a POS

so after painting the bike i got into sorting out the ignition and getting the bike running good, turns out it will only run on easy start and sputter and backfire and spit sparks from the exhaust. what could be the issue if not the carb? timing ? how do i set the timing in these dtrs, maybe my premix is not the right amount?

sounds like a fuel issue blocked fuel line faulty carb( in the ebay ad he said he rebuilt the carb)

does the plug get wet after trying to start it

i doubt he did, maybe he did when he first had the engine out but with the rusty front brake it looks like it wsnt ridden for a while anyway. i will check and strip the whole carb tomorrow
