Could just be that the sprockets are too big and it won't pull. But it sounds like less than standard gearing. Even my restricted ass re will do an indicated 80.

16 front 58 rear i believe.

Will check in a bit weird how it will redline in 5th though at 10000 revs in 5th will do 60 is that about right for standard gearing

no it should still pull more than that on standard gearing! mine was the the reed switch stopping mine over 55-60...once removed it would pull 70+ -now with my different gearing etc -pulls 80+ now :p

Have you really lowered the bottom end power though by changing your gearing

yep more geared now for topend power, although i am thinking about changing sprockets again on front- can see no point why i need this DT to go over 80mph?? I've got a car that will do all that!!

might drop back to a 13t front sprocket, very rapid acceleration then :p

I would be happy with about 70/75 top end to keep up with traffic on dual carriageways

I've got 13 front and 46 rear. I'd rather have more bottom end grunt since I do more traffic riding. But during the summer months it is nice to just go for long blasts. My brother gets annoyed cause his RS is good for a ton where as my DT barely does 60 :( It is running rather poo atm.

Bet his rs needs rebuilding alot though.so if I change front and rear sprockets if that turns out to be the problem.do I have to change the chain aswell as theres nothing wrong with the chain

He's had it three years and it has never needed a rebuild.

I posted up and stickied a calculator on here mate.

Count the teeth first. If its standard then it should do standard speed.
