My power valve cap on my dt 125r , the bit where you bolt the screw thru the power valve cap has snapped off on the right hand side of cyclinder when i was trying to get it off , (typical) does that play in a big part to help it the bike start up? it's having problems starting and running right at moment, would this be the reason why? cos all the airs leaking out of it, because it's not screwed down , i kicked it over the other day, and the cap popped out! so im guessing it plays a big part in the starting up process? any help will be massively appreciated. I want to ride it ! lol

did the bolt snap of flush or is there still some sticking out to maybe grasp with vise grips and try to turn it out ?
if it snapped inside or flush you may need to drill it out and rethread the hole for a new bolt if drilling takecare not to go to deep .
Ahh I see. sorry i meant, it snapped while i was getting it out, you know the groove bit where you put the screw thru it. the screws alrite, so that would explain why theres also a screw to put it on, the screw makes it air tight i guess. so explains why it's not starting properly. haha :D cheers m8

so the screw and thread/hole are ok but the cap is damaged ? easy temp fix would be put a larger washer on the bolt/screw that should hold the cap in place maybe ?

this is kinda what I meant some washers on the bolt will overlap the cap holding it in place .. as a temp fix sorry my paint skillz sux lol .
another option is to cut a peice of alloy sheet or metal the same shape as the top of the cap and hole

When I first got mine the cap was missing it started fine and ran ok was just a bit noisy.used a core plug in the end for a temporary fix which worked a treat.

done the same myself just cut a bit of alloy plate to shape some gasket paste or chem metal and bolt in place lol ... used to be a big fan of boddging it when money was tight ..
Ahh I see. well I think it's fuel related now, plug stinks of it lol. at least the cap is ruled out. just weird it was fine last week. and i go to use it next day and it doesnt start. lol... can i put redex in tank just a little? could be dirty fuel and carb is all blocked up?
