push rod adjustment

I've just rebuilt my bottom end all seems sweet accept the push rod. I'm afraid off putting the side casing back on and it not being adjusted right lol. I'm wondering is there a certain way it should be screw in ie do I tighten it as far as possible. I don't remember it being right in the middle of the locking nut thread I've made sure to follow the guide to replacing the clutch but there's no mention on where The push rod should be.  I hope some 1 can make sense of it lol

got any pics mate, I just did the rebuild on mine, the clutch boss has to go a certain way around its got a punch mark that should be up, and stagger the ring cushions (big washers between clutch plates) around in a circle, those tangs on the outside are to throw off oil balanced when running, if they arnt staggared it might cause a vibration, and when you have the basket assembled (before you install the springs and 10mm screws) test by pulling the clutch cable push lever if the plates move back and forth a bit, things are looking good, (you shouldnt have to compress the springs to fit the 5 or so 10mm screws.

the push lever (that the cable later connect to) pushes a push rod which is loose in the center of the clutch assembily hollow spindle, this pushes a small bearing, which in turn pushes the other pushrod which is bolted into the centre of the pressure plate. easier with diagrams ie no 19 (in the diagram) is screwed into no 5, this fits down the hole in the centre of the spindle that holds everything together.  if in doubt before you put the cover back on the engine use mole grips to test the clutch movment... there should be movment causing the release of the pressure in the clutch plates, if nothing happens and you can turn the clutch leaver to its limit by hand, go back and recheck the boss is on correctly and the pushrods and ball bearing are in situ...

loosen the pushrod adjuster locknut (in ur photo), and push the clutch lever (where the cable attaches to) as far as possable, then start to tighten the pushrod screw, keep testing the position of the clutch lever like my photo until the arrow on the lever aligns with the marker on the engine caseing... see on my engine  with the 2 arrows!!! then when correct position lock the nut again
