So my DT packed up in October and I had the engine fully rebuilt by NORFE.
The bike is now back in one piece in my kitchen but due to the ammount of miles I do, a 2 stroke just doesn't cut it.
I need reliablilty at the moment so have just bought one of these...
It's a Rieju MRT pro 125 sm, spanish bike but uses a carbed version of the Yamaha WR125 engine, 40mm adjustable Marzocchi USD forks, Radial brakes and will be de-restricted by a dealer for free
It's also £1000 cheaper which is handy
Going to let my old man have the DT for now, I'll be having it back one day
Nice, I bought an 125 SMX to flip, couple of years ago, reliable Yam 4t engine in them, you'll be wanting the 450 Marathon Pro Comp mind, in a year or two.
Even more impressive when you read it's specs Model Year: 2014
Engine Size (in ccm): 450
In addition to the Yamaha WR450 engines, the Rieju machines feature Galfer floating wavy discs, Brembo callipers with dual pistons, dual diameter pro-alloy handlebars, a multifunction digital instrument display, an alloy swing-arm with progressive rear link system (PRS), Excel black anodised lightweight rims, Sachs fully adjustable rear shock with remote reservoir and 45mm Marzocchi Shiver adjustable inverted forks. It is fully European homologated for road use with UK specification speedometer and lights. So no road-legal conversion costs will be necessary. Developed in the heat of the Spanish Enduro Championship the recently launched Marathon Pro enduros are the new flagships of the Rieju range. Suitable for professional users and club riders alike. During the first competitions we have already achieved great results beating other well-known brands at National and Regional level. Over the last 75 years Rieju have manufactured over 400,000 small capacity motorcycles powered by Minarelli motors and we have a great tradition of endurance & supermoto racing in the small capacity sector. Building on their close relationship with Minarelli Motori (part of the Yamaha Motor group) allows the Rieju design engineers to take the best Japanese engine technology in collaboration with proven enduro specialists to bring to the market a new top specification road legal enduro machines. The Marathon 250 Pro Enduro is up to 10kg lighter than the competition, full road kit (lights, indicators, horn, speedo etc) road legal exhaust plus a full power connector. The liquid cooled 4 stroke 5 Valve(titanium) DOHC Yamaha WR250 competition motor has been tweaked to provide superior power & torque levels. The Marathon 450 Pro Enduro features an earlier WR450 Yamaha Competition motor which is superior to the latest lower powered WR. Assembled in house on the Rieju production line the 450/250 share top quality components such as Marzocchi Inverted Shiver 45mm, Excel Rims with Alloy hubs
Not being funny. Baising Spanish bikes on my Spanish built DT and on my Spanish Aprilia their build quality is not brilliant HOWEVER say what you will about a four stroke (I know I do) look at the spec pf that machine.
Some great donor parts for a DT there.
Jeez that's a nice bike.
From the swinger to the frame. The Shock the wheels and the front suspension. The brakes The alloys BLATENLY the same as the derbi GPR which are the same as my DT wheels.
Mate that is a really really nice bike. Really nice.
That desparately wants a YZ 125 transplant. Nah I like the look of that. That is uber smart.
Those WR125 engines are slow as fook though!
That's the only bad point. A big point masked by some really and truly briliant features.
Sherco designed frame too, providing you know what Sherco represents. and read thoroughly Cal, it used the better earlier WR engines that Yamaha use in their new bikes.
The spec is really appealing and it is a lovely looking bike, I'm not bothered about power/speed really, I just want reliability as this will be my work horse. I've got my project TS50/YZ125 for hooning once it's done
I went to france for the beach race a few weeks ago and there were Reijus everywhere, the big old 450's, the smaller 2 smokes. Was hilarious, hardly any mopeds compared to over here where you find very little geared bikes and plenty of mopeds.
Thing I don't get is that it says Black for bike colour, yet I've sat on a White bike at the dealership, and to think that you can ride it straight home after a comp if needs be.

go to paris its wall to wall mopeds
this was out side my hotel anvers paris and every street was like this lol
If the 125 pro is the same as the SMX then they use the TTR Yam engine, like you say smooth and very reliable, but I'll give you 6 months and you'll be wanting the 450 Marathon Pro, with the 450WR race engine in it. give us a shout if you need any Rieju bits, as I have some 125 smx bits in the garage .
I don't think it is NEV, the pro uses the Moto Minarelli engine that's used in the WR125 and yzf-R125's except this is carbbed not fuel injected :)
Thanks NEV, I'll let you know if I need anything
