I bought a White DT125R brand new in August 1989 from David Sykes Superbikes in County Durham and it was £1295, I bought another brand new Blue one in January 2001 from Tillstons Motorcycles in Stockton on Tees and it was £2600.

Im sounding old now but I remember brand new DT175MX for £795 in 1983, nobody wanted them as the law was changed to 125 for learners in 1982 and everyone was buying the new DT125LC and RD125LC.

Not many people will still have the ones they bought new still I bet, I have my 89 G reg that I bought new I bought it back 23 years after I sold it when my mate came across it as a wreak at Ruforth Auto jumble, its in bits now while I get what it needs but no rush as im not going to be parting with it again. Someone on here has my 2001 that I sold in 2003, not the person I sold it to though.

I paid 2095 for my DT125RE 05 model with 183km in 2007. They were £3295 i think from Yamaha at the time. You've gotta taken into account inflation. What was 1295 (1989) in todays money.

Dunno what 1295 was in 89 when I bought one but it seemed like a lot at the time, last one I seen new was a DTX in local dealer in late 07 early 08 was 3595.

I would have said £3000.00 before the calculation
