Can't get the pilot screw out of my carb. The head has completely gone and it won't move left or right. Just seeing if there is any solutions before I buy another carb. Obviously I've tried spraying numerous amount of Wd40 in and and then leaving it. However I can't get the thing out no

Cheers

Plenty of people have done this. You really have to be careful to get the right size driver in there and be careful. Obviously thats of no use to you now. As a solution you could try and thin bladed driver and tap it into the brass to see if you can make a good enough slit to turn it. Keep applying penetrating oil to it for a few days before you try again as that will give you the best chance. Heat is the other thing that will help. If you can gently heat the recess it is in then it may also help.

Easiest way I found when I done mine was drill a small hole in the dead centre of the screw.then tap a small star key into tue screw so it fits in there tight.then just turn it left and right to get it moving stopping occasionally to spray penetrating fluid.makes thejob alot easier if you can get hole in middle though new screw off yamaha is 13.50 though with the spring and o ring

Thanks I'll give it a try. Failing that I'll just buy another carb
