decided to fit the rebuilt engine instead...using the barrel and piston from old engine-only because its about 1000 miles old -should mean that not as long a running in period? piston was bit carbonised on top but cleaned off-i knew it was running slighter rich- as i have adjusted it too :p
Just filled it up with gearbox oil and checking that there are no leaks etc before i fit in frame....forgot about where the neutral switch is and all pee'd out of engine lol...found the bolt and all seems good now. Even with the old barrel and piston the compression is a lot better than before? suppose thats due to new seals and bearings?
Have managed to get a left hand crankcase- so will fit to the now spare engine in my leisure( thanks to Deeteemx)suppose the good thing is that it will have a new barrel and piston to fit on once done- and i fitted new seals to the engine last year which has only done 8000 mile verified :p
well fired up the rebuilt engine..3 kicks and alive..couple leaks around water pump but need to get new bolts i think..also couldnt bleed the oil line-kept getting lots of bubbles but seemed to have settled down now!
will fit gear lever and clutch cable tomorrow and see if i got clutch plates right way lol
