just decided to total up all my receipts held for my bike excluding the cost of purchasing which was very cheap.

an eye opening £885 - thats receipts for everything including oils,spark plugs,cables,handguards,brakes,battery,seat tailoring,new panels,fuel lines,air filter,tyres,grips, and lots more.

i havent even included what i have purchased from members on here and also not including the spare engine i bought last year for £200

oooops...think i shall be keeping that away from the wife hahaha

so come on guys lets see the real figures you've spent

I've spent that on tuning parts alone... With reciepts. Although I'm not going to divulge. It's pretty horrific the money I've spent on parts.

My DTR cost me £1350 and i have probably spent around £500-700 in a year of owning it doing all my own labor(easy double that if i had to pay meschamics).

My £950 project i have already spent £400 on and i haven't even touched the engine yet.

Hmmm, would say easily £3,000 region. Would I do it again? Nope. I'd buy a KTM 125 EXC...

Problem with those is no ignition biggrin anybody can jump on and ride off

Plus any copper who knows bike's will get you done and insurance might not be so easy

Hahah, even the DTX's have weak ignition systems, mine is a '97. Can just connect two wires up and ride it away two minute job. My DT doesn't even have a steering lock, and I live in a rubbish area where they'll run it off up the street if you left it out with no lock for ten minutes.

Not many cops know their bikes. Even if they did, I doubt they'd know the EXC exceeds the BHP for learners. The cop that pulled me over once kept asking if I passed my "CBR"

And I'd rather use taxi's / buses than use a DTR / EXC as a commuter. Just too many scrotes willing to nick them given half the chance.

I would say

£950 when I first bought it.

About £350 on paint and a new tank and brake pads tail tidy.
, number plate ect, indicators.

£100 on new front tyre

Around £1300 on my rebuild lol.

Since then.. £20 on new sprocket seal and collar.. £3.50 on rear indicators lol

So around £2600 and you can probaly add more when you think of some of the spares ect so easily over £3000, quite scary come to think of it, thats why I never let it out my sight and I forgot about my £1200 shed for it to sleep in lol!!

I bought it to save me fuel money ha ha ha...

£2.5k on the Black / Green DT, and £3k on the hybrid with another £600-£800 still to finish it off. But if the missus was to ever find out, my arse would be grass.

I have no missus, but I've never kept receipts. I keep them until the part is fitted, if the part is all good I just lob it in the bin. Or lose it somewhere around the house and the mum ends up binning it. All important documents to the bike etc are under my bed, in a box to keep dust out. :)

Just what I've got in the garage atm...

CBR900
£1280...no bits yet

KLX450
£2500
FMF: £500
Random bits and pieces probably around £200

RGV 250
£1300
£700 on rebuild and other bits...know I'm up to £2k though lol

So £6480 ish lol (£1400 without cost of bikes)

Wouldn't even wanna think how much I spent in the past on bikes, probably over £100 on brake levers alone lmao
