Right then Update time
Thanks firstly for everyones help/input thru my latest stress out.
The problem turned out indeed to be the stator , the ignition source coil portion of stator died .
A more visible fault was that it was physically loose on its fixing
Should anyone want to test this as it is the source of your spark read on lol
Unplug connector blocks to stator ,above left engine casing there are several blocks its the triangular shaped block you want with 3 wires.
Using a multimeter on resistance (ohms) attatch the red probe to the green/white wire and black probe to the black/red wire .
A good reading on this will be between 192-288 ohms , if you get no reading across these wires then its junk like mine was ..
Took time to figure this out went through the usual things , bought new HT Coil n cap and a plug but was still dead although im not good with electrics
I decided get a test meter n find the fault myself !Urged on by the fact my local shop CMC callow want £72 p/h to fault find electrical problems !!
In your dreams I thought
So I went through the fault finder on the online manual until it led me to the SOURCE COIL
For anyone wantin to test the pickup coil read on .
PICK UP COIL
attach red probe to the blue/white wire and the black probe to the white /red wire theres only 2 wires so cant go far wrong eh !
A good resistance value is between 280-420 ohms ..
Hopefully this may help some one else thru the stress a bit quicker
This by the way is for the stator on my 06 dtx
