bent my shaft!

Crashed into rock hard cow **** before an hit my lever (surprisingly strong!) Levers fine but it bent my gear lever shaft back, seals etc are fine, shifts through gears sweet, can i just bend/**** it woth a hammer till its straighter or liver with it or have cases split :(

Don't need to split cases mate. Very easy job to do personally I'd bend it OUTSIDE the case. Remove it. Heat it. Then bend it. The shaft (if its the one I'm thinking if) goes through both halves of the cases and can be removed by taking the clutch case off. Can be replaced with the engine inside the bike and are a dime a dozen should you break it. I'm sure deetee will have one

But if you look for one any will fit from 1989-2007 dtr/e/x and a ktm LC2 gilera sc and even a tzr 4dl will all fit. To clarify the shaft that the lever attaches to is the one thats bent?

Thanks for that mate! put my mind at ease hahaha good helpfull sote this :D

Yepp, its the shaft that the gear shifter bolts on with the slines, next to the front sprocket, glad the bottom end wont need splitting, never done it an dont want to haha, is there anything id need if i replace it? new clutch casing gasket and shifter shaft seal, any bearings or anything onit id need to replace?

No. You can ger away with reusing the clutch case gasket.


No. Just a 1/4" ratchet. If that.
