DT powered Sachs XTC problems
Permalink

I'm currently working on a Sachs XTC 125 Supersport which is DT powered. It has under 3000km on the clock, and only spent one year on the road (2000), but will only go in to 1st and neutral.

I have taken it apart and the only thing i can see that could be a problem, is that the bearing on the selector drum doesn't fit very snugly in the crank case housing.

After some playing about, i managed to get the cases closed again and the gears changing smoothly, but i had to close the cases in gear. Which meant that the neutral notch on the selector star did not align with the detent arm..  If i close the cases with the drum positioned where it gets stuck, i then have the choice of going one way and being stuck with 1st and neutral, or go the other way and being stuck between 2nd and 6th!

Its strange, with the cases open the gears will normally lock after about a quarter turn.. then after some fiddling it will eventually fall in to place and work correctly, until i close the cases!

Anyone got an idea as to whats going on? This is doing my swede in!

Haha that's a minarelli engine???? Or at least the clutch basket has it stamped.

I am trying to just rack my brains on this one mate. Saw it yesterday but am still thinking.

And stamped into the cases. Much like my 4DL.

What has it got on the barrel, is it just 3mb or is it a 3mbP?

One thing i found odd was the head says 3bn, but the underside appears to be the unrestricted 3mb

You can derestrict the heads, if you know what you're doing.

I don't think the engine had ever been apart, but maybe.
