following my previous thread i brought a mitika piston and i have fitted it, now there is a distinct ticking noise from the top end.
i can only assume this is piston slap. there is no movement on the con rod and it speeds up as revs increase. the noise is present when clutch is pulled in aswell.
i checked the piston to barrel clearance when assembling, it was within tolerances according to the haynes manual
any other ideas? or should i get my other barrel re bored and oversize piston.
had a couple with a ticking sound that sounded like it comes from the head but in fact was else where .
kick return spring was once one of them sounds where the ticking got faster or louder when reved but would stop if pushed down on kicker wilst bike was running .
another time was vibration and fixed fast by tightening all engine mounts ..mainly the one from head to frame .
