The wires and pipes got me a bit confused compared to mx engines.. But it's pretty much just the swingarm bolt and then the two or three other ones holding the engine in place. Obviously tank and radiator pipes need to be disconnected first and all liquids drained.

Shouldn't be rocket science to figure it out. Just take your time and you will get there eventually.

Make sure you take note of which wires go where. Otherwise on reassembly you'll have trouble.

It isn't too bad, as some as colour coded. And the majority are plugs so just plug into each other. If you have a manual, the wiring loom for all the years is in there. smile

off subject , thought id post here as its already up, pissing down with rain after work, half way home, bike cuts out, pull over, start the bike up, (i rev it, it cuts out again), then same again. i start it up , rev it up and dies. this could be due to spark plug being way too wet from rain? i hope it is, i think my main bearing are on there way out too. could the bearings be this problem? or the spark plug.

Sounds like a moisture problem. The sparkplug should be isolated from the water.

Why do you think the main bearings are worn. Not a big job to fix.

Never been changed from factory! You can hear it on tick over and when you rev. sounds awful, it's not a major knocking noise though. I don't think there's a waterproof cap on the plug. seems to be that problem. although its been fine before in turentual rain.

This is a right mystery. It's still ridable. You let it tick over and it cuts out. then all of a sudden itll be okay, you ride , then let it rev down as you slow down, it mis-fire's then goes to cut out untill you rev it. Probably crap in the carb Im guessing!

Yeh sounds like a carb problem, try adjusting your tick-over to higher, if not just take it apart and clean it, even i can do that and i dispise any kind of mechanics

Thought so mate. although it ticks over perfect for few mins, 1.5RPM as is says in the manual. but ill stick it higher and see how it goes, it's all of a sudden started doing it. it's been fine for ages before. i can get some proper 2 stroke additive stuff which cleans the carb out, it helped on my RS 125 before. it worked a treat.but ill adjust tick over so it's slightly higher. just splutters then it's fine again. i have to keep revs high to keep it alive while waiting at traffic lights. it's pissing me off lol. jetting's been fine as well with the full DEP.

If it's only in the rain, it's probably a wet HT lead. Can solve the problem by buying a new HT cap from eBay. Make sure it's water proof. I had the same problem.

Faulty earth most likely for the cut out t check the kill switch connection as it can cut out the engine if the connection isn't 100%
