I have a 3bn  head an cylinder an also a 3 mb head an cylinder

would it be worth selling all the above an buying a cylinder an head from another bike tdr / tzr etc

I assume the tzr an tdr have different types of cylinder etc just like the dt

I was looking at some random things on google the other day an found a post where someone had fitted a yz cylinder to a dt  so it seems like there are lots of options

No one has fitted a YZ cylinder to a DT mate. NO ONE! The YZ cylinder is not crank inducted like the DT.

The TZR, TDR mostly have the same barrels mate. The exception being the 4FU barrels and the YAMAHA 4dl TZR RR barrels which are thousands of pounds to buy.

Keep the 3MB stuff and sell the rest. And work on the 3MB. Or if you fancy a rare item buy my rare 4FU barrel. Which IS different from the DTR cylinders. Check the cylinder page on this forum as i've posted up differences in the barrels

Doesn't look like any yz barrel I've seen

A lot of 'chavs' mistake the Y2 barrel engraved 3MB for YZ and claim they have yz barrels. That was why I was so prominent. It would be mint if a yz barrel was a direct swap, but you're talking about MASSIVE bottom end rework in order to get more if not any power out of it. The fly wheel is pretty much non exisitent on the yz. The compression is extremely low, the crank case volumes are different and the vacuum pressures differ greatly. In other words, stick to what has been designed. Or go and grab a yz125 engine.
