Ouch. If his body had hit that railing, no two doubts he'd of died. Especially if he hit it head first, one of the leading causes of motorcycle accident deaths is going head first into objects, cars, railings, lamp posts and trees etc.

I'm guessing the bandages are all for road rash? What caused the accident? Just lack of judgement / low slided at a turn?

Hope he's all well, and wears some proper gear when out and about now. :)

thanks luke and oil on the road he slid for a good 20m before the bike hit the railing, and he has full leathers but he said he would rather get road rash instead of buying new leathers and he left the bike next to the pub with 2 helmets and some **** robbed one helmet and left the bike and the other one ...

Probably would have taken his bike as well if it hadn't been wrecked. It's a shame, but we're living in a society where we can't have nothing nice unless it's in your home / around you at all times. You aren't even safe doing that nowadays. A few bikers have been jacked up by lads making threats. I have my stuff all ready for that scenario. Put it this way, soon as they see what I pull out they'll be running like a Springer Spaniel.

No one's jacking me up for my DT. Already had one bike stolen that way, this time I'll be ready for it.

Anyway, your friend should heal soon. And I'd rather buy new leathers than have scars all up my arms, hands and legs. Textiles are remarkably cheaper. About £300-£400 for jacket and bottoms. Can get cheaper if you want stuff that'll just rip away in a crash. :)

Lost his finger! Damn that is really bad, but to be fair was one of the big no nos I read when I first got a bike. I don't understand why you need the engine running?

That's proper bad though!

Have you found out what happened to your friend with the burglar? I bet it was someone she knows. Or someone's been staking her house out and knows she lives on her own with her kid(s).

I assume he just punched her or something when he saw her?

Around here they creep in houses and steal mobiles, cash etc and take the car if the keys are in sight. Maserati was taking and chased all over Leicester by the police helicopter about a week or so ago.
