So what happens now the bikes in good condition ie not crash damaged an bent .. Wil the Dvla remove the scrap marker an allow it back on the road

 Yeah I can see that happening with bikes like these ending up as "out the back door field bikes" not expecting anyone to try and put them back on the road. From what I can make out this one had nothing to do with the police it was just taken for scrap by the owner as an mot failure, all the lights and reg plate etc where with it when I got it, it was just in a very sorry rusty unmaintained condition. Run into the ground as they say.

If the insurance has already paid out they won't let it go back on the road if it was taken for scrap like you say then the scrap marker can be removed

Ile just bust it up for spares if they wont let it back on the road, not much chance of getting the money back I would think. Dan thinks the scrapped marker can be removed so hopefully that's what happens.

None at all, I sent them everything they asked for and im still waiting to hear back from them. I was over 2 months after I sent for the logbook till they sent me the letter saying it was scrapped so im thinking it might take them that long to decide if I can have the logbook. I cant see the problem as it cant be scrapped if I have it here. I wouldn't hope for a quick decision though as they are definitely not to fast at sorting stuff out, I suppose they have to make some enquires with the previous recorded keeper and the yard that issued the certificate of destruction to find out how it was not destroyed after they issued the certificate I suppose.

The COD was issued by a scrapyard. Its definitely not a ringer ive had more of these than ive had hot dinners if its a restamped number ile eat the frame lol, vin label is still on it as well with matching vin number.

The only thing fishy is someone at the scrapyard has sneaked it out the back door for a bit of pocket money not expecting it to go back on the road...........

Looks like I should get the logbook in the end after reading that still not heard nothing from them still though, if they want to check it over though I hope they don't mind checking a stack of bits as that's what it is now lol...............

I checked it on there before I even bought it and it came up straight away, so it seems they do come up on there even if they are scrapped. Dan has checked it out and it was marked as scrapped in 2012. Like I said ive spoke to the fella at DVLA dealing with it on the phone and DVLA now have all the info they asked me for so its just waiting on them now. It will be a shame if they wont allow it as I had plans to use all my Pastel Mineral Blue and White nos parts on it.
