I planned to sell this last year an I bought andy yams dt125

after a few beers I decided to sell the dt but keep the engine the plan is to fit the dt engine in to this everyone says I am mad but that's what I want to dothe xvs weighs around 130kg an the heavy v twin engine is around half of the bikes weight

the dt engine on the other hand only weighs 20kg so it would make the bike weigh around the 100kg mark

sounds really good pal will be hard to fit the exhaust around the seat to the end and a under slung pipe will be to low.

this was mine will be getting it back soon. 1982 vf 750 i single seated it welded some small slash pipes onto the collector fitted straght bars and removed all indicators love this bike its awesome cant wait to get it back

You are mad lmao!

Yes the engine weighs a ton, but the power curve of that engine suits the riding style a lot more. I'm no expert but I'd assume you wouldn't want a two stroke on a cruiser lol. Sounds pretty sweet if you do though would love to hear what you think of it when its all done. Very cool.

Can't go under slung there's only 4 inch ground clearance an that's with out the rider sat on it

Think I ve sorted the exhaust not sure what the power will be like if I use a 1979 rm 125 expansion chamber with the dt flange welded on

It will be poor, but do you have much choice.

These bikes were never about raw power anyway. I think a 4T lump would be much better, you know it's serious when I say it.

Put a YZ 125 engine in, the YZ 125 exhaust will probably be a better bet. Put it'll put out a lot more power especially in the band compared to a dt.
