logged on to day and found my last post was back in 2012 eeeek..!! . my intentions back then was to buy a r or sm model .but after a lot of faffing around and meeting up with some of my old biking mates I ended up with a low mileage gsx 750 f . after riding it for a year I now have decided that I really do want a 125 as I have had more fun on the smaller cc trial bikes .( 1 dt 125 mx 1 ts125x 2 dt125lc mk2 and 2 kmx 200) there are way too many speed cameras between my house and the gfs .plus she had a bad crash on her cb125 she had the usual car pull out on her on a main road and wrote the bike off and is not that bothered on going pillion .   but I cannot believe the price some of the dtr's are going for considering how much I paid for a 150mph+ 750. not a caned to death tatty learner bike that will do a genuine 100mph ( ooh look a flying pig) so after Christmas the gsx will be going and will be after a dt again.

You're nuts!

I'm surprised that given you could have any bike you'd have a dtr. There are a few other Options out there and I'd be happy to recommend a few different 125's. but if you want a yammy then there are also the dt200wr and a dt230. Same looking bike but with more poke. Not 150 mph but more torques

its more to do with money .. and the speed doesn't bother me any more the last 4 bikes I have had have been bandit 12 ( nicked) gsx11 street fighter sounded and looked fantastic but was a complete bitch to ride fz1000 quiet a nice bike to ride and a trx 850 sounded awesome devil pipes and was like riding a wooden plank its the worst seat ive ever had on a bike . so its more about just a small cc bike just too tinker about with and have fun on.as I said I've had two dt mk 2 but would like something newer like an r or sm model .but what is the best dt to go for I'm not bothered too much about a bigger 200 or 230 as I think these may be out of my price range but will have a look .

You can pick up a dt230 or dt200 cheaper than 125's. This is because thry can't be ridden with a cbt. And people with licenses tend to want something a little bigger. But they're rare.

Yeah that's sweet. The DT is a wicked bike. Just as you say getting expensive these days for a nice one.

I would swap my DTX for a 230 any day of the week... They are just SO hard to come by!

I look every day on eBay and Gumtree but haven't seen one in about 2 months now. It may sound stupid but this is basically one of the biggest mistakes I have made not buying this.

It was all because of my retarded phone not working properly. Last minute I tried to bid for £1050 but my eBay app wouldn't allow me to type the numbers in...

Came with full SM and off road setup...

I'm open to advice what ever I get I intend to s/m anyway. Its just the dt 125 sm is already done and I thought the dt125x is one of the better models ? I have seen the 200 and 230 going but when ever I have seen them they were going for silly money and I don't mean cheep...

Don't know where you heard that. The re/X models and some of the later r's are all made in Spain and suffer from poor build quality. Cheap paint job means that you'll find more rust on them that you will on some of the originals. That said everything else is still jap quality. It was just the assembly.
