Ebay isn't what it was, I take it that's where you got this?

I just take the good with the bad :( Plan for the worst, hope for the best!

Just contact the seller and ask for either a refund or a large partial refund if you still think its worth it at a lower price.

pls tell me you paid with paypal ? and not cash ?

clearly diy stamped and chances are just random numbers that belong to nothing or may come back as a ford cortina

Personally I'd just buy a nice set of new casings for it. Maybe if you try your luck the seller will put some money towards new cases.

The way I see eBay with parts that are second hand, is that they're selling the rubbish they didn't put on/in their bike.

in some cases you could be right but in most cases  ebay is  a massive stolen items for sale site . I would say in about 40% of cases bike parts or engines are from stolen bikes

WOW............ just restamp it nice and neat if push comes to shove. I have a H reg one with matching numbers that I bought off ebay a while back, the frame is clearly totally standard and untampered it still has the vin label on with the matching number but the engine has defo been restamped with the matching number. I had a moan when I went to collect it and got my diesel money back off the seller who claimed he bought it like that and had no idea. To be honest though you would be very hard pushed to tell and I aint that bothered.
