Really annoyed with the bike atm.

As you may know its been stood for many years, i stripped it, powdercoated bits and put it back together and since then its been difficult to start.

I sanded off the powdercoating to earth the coil and reg rec.

I have tried another cdi, new reg rec, new coil ht lead plug cap and other new plugs.

I will be trying another stator tomorrow.

But any ideas of something stupid that i have done or havnt done??

Thanks

My brother had this. He was THIS close to selling the bike. Listed it and everything.

You should have posted sooner.

Check the side stand switch. This causes the fault.

Check the neutral switch.

My brother had this and went through the same thought process. Cdi no. Coils no. Turned out to be the side stand switch. He just looped it out in the end.

I forgot to say. Have bypassed the kill switch, side stand switch and ignition.

Also finally after getting the bike started i was riding it to the mot place and it was bogging... hit 6k rpm and thats when it cut out and hasnt started since.

Compression is ok. Fuel tank has been cleaned out. Has a new fuel pipe. Carb has been cleaned.

And now its a sparking issue.

Spark plug?

Have you got a fault to earth? Check the fuse locator. I had a similar problem and it turned out the fuse holder was loose.

Also I had this problem when I installed the 4DL engine.

The ignition barrel's connector got completely corroded and I had to crimp the wires together. This was causing intermittent spark
