Has been for some time I'm afraid :(

The information is here though. And I'm always on to offer a helping hand. But yeah quiet.

To be fair it's always been peaks and troughs. But nowadays Facebook dt pages tend to rule the roost. But that tends to be quite chavey. Prefer the forums where there are more level headed people.

maxresdefault.jpgyea had noticed that .was on here a while back when I was thinking of getting back in to biking. was saving then but got talked into getting a bigger bike. funny the mate who talked me into it has now been persuaded by his wife a van would be much better than his sv600. have found this site to be very informative and will be posting pictures for advise on any dt I go for. some of the euro dt forums are ok but the translation can be a bit ropey .have been out and about today looking in some of the local bike shops but nothing going .the sinnis apache 125 and 250 look ok but don't want a gutless 4 stroke.

2013-05-13 19.32.40.jpgand they are the best Chinese bikes.lol. a mates lad brought a ajs 125 looked quite nice new, will try to get a picture of it now. all his family are well into bikes ( his granddad is 71 and still riding harly and triumph) and told him to avoid. but try telling a 18 year old.. the picture taken was first day he had it now a year old and looks like a well raged pit bike.. also is a cat b insurance clame as he was knocked off it and the insurance said it was not worth repairing  the joys of your first bike.....

I can't see the attraction because I know. But I can appreciate why. I was lucky. My brother and mum and dad knew the crack. I had a gorgeous full fairing Aprilia rs spains no 1 as my bike. So good

my mate had a pulse for about a year and the only thing that went on it was a speedo cable but he washed it every other day and kept it on tip top maintenance

I highly rate the Aprilias. Top machines. But if you're a big person then it's a small machine. But that is true for most 125's!

Its a good bike but not a popular model. A canned to death gsxr 750 goes for more.

Very sad this place is so quite. Lot's of great people and and a wealth of knowledge here in a format you can understand!

I think maybe if the focus wasn't just DT's, we could get topics and projects buzzing again but I guess that makes little sense when we all came here for our DT's.

I'm in the market for a DT project to restore and profit on(really enjoyed my SM project and smile everytime I see it around town), although I can see myself getting carried away again and spending all the profit on OEM parts!

p.s to quote Calum "Avoid like the plague. Nasty shoddy built bikes". I had a new 125 Chinese moped when I was 17, I did 1.4 miles on it then sold it for £400 :P (mother took big loss!)

like I have said I've had two kmx 200's and rate them still as very good bikes . but have had a couple of dt's in the past and fancy one now for tinkering with . a hell of a lot more things you can get for a dt where as you are limited with a kmx. the only Chinese bike I'd go near is a sinnis apache . but as its a four stroke it would be gutless . one of the blokes at work came in on a 125 and I thought it was tatty old Honda cg about 20 years old .but when I had a look it was a Chinese ching chong 23we324. a year old and looked like it had been left in the sea for a month. in fact true story...... about 20 years a go there were a couple of pits near me were you could take bikes over and we pulled a Honda cb 125 twin out of one of the ponds it had been under about 4 ft of water for 2/3 days pushed it home no plates or frame number but who ever had owned it before it had been nicked had coated every thing in copper slip drained the tank /oil and left it to dry out and got the thing running again. doubt you could do that with a cheep Chinese bike but .... go back a generation past me and my dads lot thought jap was crap........ and I don't like leaky triumphs a classic bike to me is a rd 400dx or kwak 750 triple

Yeah but Jap Stuff used to be atrocious lol. And it used to be all about British made bikes.

Not anymore. Can barely make a decent burger let alone quality motors. To be fair though cars like the MG were and are SHOCKING! If they actually bothered with quality control or trying to make a more premium product then I bet they could do pretty good job at it.

Jap stuff is not the best, but it's consistently good. And it seems that is enough. I don't rate German stuff but people love their quality and rate that. We all know that Italians can build impressive motors. I don't even think they care that their electrics are a bit dodgey. Seems like that's they trademark.

Swings and roundabouts though.

What do you guys think of ktm's? I know they use to get the piss taken out of them; i.e. There would be a picture of a bike snapped in half and a caption saying 'must be a ktm', but maybe that was in the past now days they look like one of the leading manufactures, are know to be expensive and therefore good quality?

Austrian Built bikes? Mate they're one of the best bike manufactures. Also deliver high end products, and hence, command a high price tag.
