I've been quiet, still here however. I mostly lurk around anyways. Should have a new update on my build in a week or so.

As you all say it's been quiet I'll stick my oar in. The Japanese bikes that first arrived here in the early 1960's were not badly made crap that wouldn't last, sorry! That reputation arose when shops had trouble getting spare parts after owners crashed or otherwise knackered their bikes with amateur mechanicking! So loads of them just got scrapped or boken for spares to keep the rest going. The quality of those '60's Hondas Yams and Suzukis was top notch. I have owned/restored a 1965 YDS3 and the Suzuki T10 I have now, both of them are streets ahead of what the British and Europeans were doing at the same time. The engineering is much more precise and logical and even then they didn't leak oil, break down or vibrate bits off when you rode them.
The things the Brit bike die-hards used to say about them are just the same things being said about Chinese bikes now! OK, the materials are sometimes not as good as Japanese bikes and the paint chrome too, but you might be surprised at how many 'Japanese' bikes or their engines etc, are actually made in satellite factories owned by Honda/Suzi/Yam in ermm, China! It's all done that way cos it's cheap and they don't expect us to keep the bikes for long anyway.

I like any bike that is fun to ride and I stopped being a British only bigot when I bought my first Yamaha-a 1969 AS1-After the Bantam I had been riding the little Yam was like a rocketship-I could overtake things other than milkfloats (remember them?) for the first time ever. There I was, a convert!

My nephew is a Sinnis dealer-I'm not saying where-and he says they are ok. he reckons they are made in the same factory the DR125s are made in. He has a Chinese wife too, so getting the translation done and deals in China are smoothed a bit. My bet is that in 20 yrs time we will all be riding Chinese bikes with Japanese names on them because they are a better 'label'. Or maybe Triumphs made in Thailand? Oh no, that happens already!

Yep, these 'old' DT's are good quality, if you can find what you want I hope you get it. They don't make 'em like they used to, and that is a bit sad. Same as me saying that is a bit sad!

KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG is an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, which was formed in 1992 but traces its foundation as early as in 1934. In 1992 the company was spun off from its parent company KTM when it ran into financial troubles.

I am still here just full of busy collecting brownie points ready to exchange for pass out tickets Decorating and laying laminate flooring throughout the ground floor , gladly coming to a close and fingers crossed it's in to the garage back end of this week to start getting the bikes sorted out I am going to sell two and hopefully buy one , I am finding the big baby the Pan Euro st1100 too porky for me then there is the little XL200r that since I got the DT is not getting used so time to part with it , then I know where there is a BMW 650f that the guy I got the DT from is selling and has not been abused and for it's age is in good ish condition , and should be about right for me , but if that does not come off the DT will be going to the IOM for a weeks thrashing , but if I get the BMW I will go on that as I will be running with one mate on a 600 Hornet and another lad on a Blade

the wife is not coming to the IOM this year so I am going on what they call the TT taster , bike and rider £109 ,and that is for the crossing then it's up to you to find accommodation and that is as cheap or dear as you want to make it , you have to travel by the Thursday of the week before practice week and return by the Thursday of practice week , so you get the three days of the Pre TT classic races down at the Southern 100 circuit , then you get the first 4 and if you plan it well half the 5th practice sessions , bring it on , then there is all the BSB WSB meetings to get in a busy busy boy ,

finally got round to replacing the brocken updown loading wap top , at last now all I have to do is learn how to use the bl--dy thing , compared to the old one it's like jumping out of bed and landing on one of the kids roller skates , supersonic intergalactic wonder wap , it has no respect for the elderly it F's up at twice the speed of ?????

back soon ish

Need to get myself to the TT but just logistics. Its mega expensive and I'm not good at planning and researching.
