Give the same displacement to both engines, and the two smoke will leave the 4 dead in the water. But they don't. They race 250's against 450's. How's that fair lol
Ok yeh enduro but thats got alot to do with the 2stroke not overheating like the 4's
Get an average rider on a 250f and a 250 2 the four stroke will win, unless its allot of straights
Nothing 2 do with the 4banger overheating, the 2strokes are much lighter and easier to ride in tough sections. A 250 4banger couldn't keep up with a 250 2stroke no way. Maybe till they let the clutch out....
Worst bike with out a shadow of doubt that a sat my bum on was a FAT Bastard Harley total bag of **** , Best ?? I find that very hard to make my mind up about , I love my Pan for long distance and have been lucky enough over the years to have ridden dozens of bikes , from trials bikes to top of the range sports bikes , so it all depends on the usage you are going to use the bike for , round town I loved the C90 to throw around and have fun on the RG500 was a corker , a surprise of a bike was the BMW R1200SS that was a shock not what you expect from that stable , it went far better and handled far better than it looked as if it should , then we have the ones that got away , the ones you always fancied having a go on but never got the chance RD 250 / 350 lc to name but two ,
2strokes are just more fun . keeping them on the boil and hoping they wont go pop...I am old enough to remember the big boys .. Yamaha rd/rdz 500.. Suzuki rg 500 as well as Honda ns 400.. Kawasaki kr1s 250..and of course the rd 250/350 lc and ypvs...as well as the old boys Suzuki x7 Kawasaki kh 250/350/500/750 Yamaha rd 250/350/400 dx the price of these bikes is now frightening £4000 for a kr1s. lc/power valves into the £3000 mark and rgv500 and rd500 into the mid- teens although have seen a pre production rgv 500 on sale for over £20k(might of been more) had never even been started.it was part of a collection in that was up for auction
Sorry to throw the subject off, but one of you guys mentioned the Kawasaki KR1S?
My bro told me those were the fastest 250cc 2 stroke production bikes made.
Me and my brother are clearing out the garage and there's a few bikes he wanting to sell...
One of said bikes is a Kawasaki KR1S 250 project. From what he's told me its pretty much complete but needs work. Furthest we've got is stripping/painting the frame & wheels.
The panels have been worked on (fibre glass, filler, ready for prime/paint)
The engine needs rebuilding but was running prior to stripping. Plan was to rebuild it and him use it for work/fun but he then bought his KTM 400 exc
If anyone is interested ill get more info & pics then make a topic in the for sale section.
for some reason Kawasaki never really jumped into the two stroke race rep lake like Yamaha or Suzuki .Honda had a paddle with the ns 400. the kr1 and kr1s were bloody quick if I remember the kr1 was a tad fragile. they have not got the same following as the yam lc/power valve or Suzuki rgv/gammas but will probably increase in value.
