No idea, its only an AR50 not exactly a top performer. They must think a collector will think its worth that kind of money. It will be for sale for a very long time... !

There is a mint AR80A1 the original model on ebay for £1500 or best offer, my mate suggy had an identical one of these when we were 16 on our YTS jobs registered as a 50 tuned a bit with a Micron etc on it. Was a little flying machine, bringing back memory's now lol.

i had a dt 125mx in the same horrid pinky red (repainted it black) was a good little bike and just as fast as the mk1 dt lc. also a mate (olli) had a ar80 the same time i had my ar125 and the dam thing was nearly as quick... a lot of the 80s ended up being donors to make the 50s quicker. olli wrote a metro off with his 80.he was going flat out on it when a woman driver pulled out on him he put the drivers door in by about one and a half foot and broke her pelvis. he was in intensive care for two weeks hospital for nearly two months .he still got the 80 up and running again total nutter. still no way would i pay two and a half k for a 50....a fizzy maybe if i won the euro. but would prefer a rgv 500

not good then ha ha .trouble is at first look they seem like good bikes. If you have no experience of bikes you would probably go for one. it always seems to be reliability or lack of spares. that or they are just crap.
