My brothers got a 2005 dt125re which hes storing in my garage at the minute.checked the coolant level today and the radiator, expansion bottle and the hoses have a light grey gunge in them.flushed it all through today and took it out for a ride but the sludge has appeared again at the top of the rad.undoing the coolant drain bolt and the coolant runs clear.it doesnt overheat and theres no water in the gearbox.has anyone got any suggestions.he checked coolant at xmas and it was fine and clear.initially I thought headgasket but it didnt overheat and done about 15 mile journey on it today

Thanks

Doesn't have to overheat. You will lose coolant though. There really
Isn't much that can go wrong. It's a sealed system and only a failed
Water pump seal or head gasket will let oil in. If it's gearbox oil it'll go like mayonaise. And if it's two stroke it'll be gluppy meas.

I recon head gasket.

I have never officially skimmed a cylinder or head on my dt. But I always do what I did in the tut I wrote. It will just remove any crap from both surfaces and allow it to seal better. For the extra work involved it is definitely worth it. But it's your call.
