Hi im currenly putting my cylinder on and when im turning the fleewheel so the piston moves up and down i can hear a knock everytime the piston changes direction. Is this normal? im 100% sure its not my connecting rod bearing. could it be the bearing that sits on the bolt that goes through the piston? because its used before ....fast help please ...
Shouldn't knock. Needs investigating. For the sake of a few quid why reuse a small end bearing! It's the most stressful part of an internal combustion engine, and it's pennies to replace, replace it.
But there is an underlying problem here that you need to address. Doubt it'll be a small end bearing.
Whip the cylinder off. Check for play in the main/big end bearings. Check float play. Find out exactly why the noise is coming from. Pretty self explanatory really.
hi thanks for fast reply .... i ordered a new small end bearing but the one i got doesent fit ..... its to big to fit between the holes in the piston. There is no play in any of the bearings that i can check so this is weird. ... ordering a correct small end bearing asap :/
