Im getting rid, im not good enough to ride it tbh, haven't got the right skill and technique to ride it properly... And what the previous person has done to it, its like a 125!! Bog bog POWER s***! Bog bog haha
Bloke was called dexter marks who had it before me, really quick rider
The 125's bog like **** unless you keep up your momentum and keep on the clutch, 250 2's dont scream but fck me when they go in the band you know about it, 125's need to be in the band constantly otherwise your not going anywhere
Point is the 250 2's are suppose to have more bottom end torque so you dont need to keep it pinned like the 125, mine doesn't its all topend, acting like a 125
I know what's going to happen and I'm sad for you. I reckon that bike sounds MINT! And it's actually enjoyable to watch because of that. But if you go to the darkside on me, that mute button is going to have to be pressed I'm afraid :(
You've done well though mate. I reckon those sorts of bikes are more entertaining to ride. The four stroke torquey counter parts is just fire and forget. It's not as mechanically adept as the two strokes. The power is there, on demand. Whereas as you say, this bike you've got to work with the bike, and when you hit that sweet spot, the thing flies. For me, that's how I like to roll. But that's me.
Try doing it around a mx track cal and you might change your mind, full power when you dont want it sometimes, oh and when you hit a bump wrong coming up to a jump and the bikes flatt out in the band it wakes you up abit...
Na, your right they are really fun to ride im just not commited enough on the track to ride it, my cousin loves it he's having it off me, he is a really good rider and even he's finding it hard atm, but he will adapt to it
If you wanna hear it cal i'll put a vid up of my cousin going past me on it today at the track
I've ridden MX round a track, not a ported 250 but a YZ125, I know what you mean about it not have the pure grunt, but it's just making sure you're in the right gear to hit that band.
However, from experience, big bore kits, you will lose over rev. It won't want to rev as high, something substantial like 2K over rev lost. But that's from experience. Polini do a 144 kit for the YZ and reviews from it are really good :D
I just want to clarify, I love your RM. I still think you made the right choice when buying that. It sounds like a BEAST of a machine, and I guarantee you are a much better rider from using it.
I physically cant ride it anymore, my hands are F*****, too much power to sudden ive got tendonitis and im due an operation really...
It would help allot if i had a good riding technique but im still learning so i over grip with my hands allot and its just making my hands worse, thats why its gotta go really, im not ready for it
I really want a 2 stroke though thats why im thinking an rm 125 or something
I'm an exceptionally novice MX rider mate. And I jumped on my brothers YZ round ashdown and went around find. And I mean seriouisly novice. I like the 125 class.
Dude just get the 125, I've said to people who have gone out an gone from a 250f to a 250 smoker and it's pointless mate unless you're able to ride a 125 absolutely balls to the walls you're gonna suffer on the 250 smoker it's just to much of a handful, if I was you I'd go for a 125 yeah you may be screaming it round but you learn to throw the 125 round to the max then you'll be fine!
Here's me on an average ride on s 125
I wish ; )

Trust me dude you'll be able to get close enough! I'm not sure why I prefer the 125 it's just so much fun like honestly when you're balls to the walls on a 125 and you're passing 250f's and even some 450's you know you're having fun! Trust me you go on the 125 learn to throw it around like a bmx then jump on your 250f and you should be able to do the same! The 125 makes you a better rider in terms of having control over the bike and working with the bike, the 250f is to lazy

Im thinking of selling my rm and kxf then, then with the money i can get a NICE bike... Maybe a nice 125, but tbh i want a cheapish 125, under 2k just incase i dont get on with it, maybe a kx or rm
Exactly what Liam said. They're the unsuspecting underdog that will inevitably make you a better rider because of it. I think that sort of price range is a good idea. A decent Japanese 125 goes for around that price. And if you really enjoy the 125 class then consider upgrading to a really nice KTM 125 or something.
As said, I'm not the person to talk about MX riding, I'm a terrible rider. But I've been on my brothers RM250 and his YZ125, and just found his 125 much more enjoyable and easier to wring it's neck. In the very short time I've ridden mx. Even his road YZ, that thing in the band just launches you in a way that is such a rush.
Still, I found even that on the road was scary enough, let alone mx. Needless to say, I'm a far better road racer than mx, mx is simply just more skill.
Best second hand 2 smoker money can buy mate! Now you know I am honda fanboy but for the 125 class I can't help but love the Yz, cheap enough to pick up, really nice handling, lovely power, doesn't cost much to trick them up! I'd say one of the fastest 125's stock as well

I cant believe the prices the 125's are going for... I thought they were suppose to be cheap!! I think because they are not made anymore people are wanting stupid money
