Having some issues getting a constant spark. I've gone through countless old posts and can't seem to pinpoint the problem.
On some occasions the bike would run for about 5 seconds then die. It's keeps getting spark and then no spark at all. The only time there seems to be a spark is when the engine is turning over more slowly, due to the drain of the battery of lots of attempts of trying to get it to start. I've gone through all the resistance testing for the generator and ht coil given in the manual and all checks out ok. I have continuity in all the circuits leading from the cdi to the generator and to the rectifier. So now I'm going to test the starter motor. But as I was removing the starter motor I noticed some damage to the flywheel and then found that there is some damage to the generator coils. Could this be the cause of the problem? Has anybody had damage to their generator like this before?
Extremely grateful for any advice you guys can give. I'm at the end of my tether as not only has this happened but in the same week the garage I was working at has gone into liquidation and in turn I've been made redundant, so couldn't get any more stressful right now lol
