Yes thats what i think. I log in now and again the new site was this ones final nail but the new one has been a none runner also. All the info is here and the bikes are still as popular as ever.

Yep.

I've asked Seiki MANY MANY times for the Database Dump to ingest into the new forum. Without that database dump there is literally no way of feasibly transferring that knowledge across.

That said, we have good members on the old forum who know their stuff and are actively posting.

Shouldn't be quick to slate it as that's not helpful. Scrim I urge you to start using it as your knowledge is invaluable source!

As said many times before, the migration from this forum was Discussed with Seiki and it was decided that a jump ship was required. This went stale for about 12 months before I got round to spinning up a new forum. The difference between me and Seiki is I am technically adept with web technologies. We have many new features such as chat rooms and the like on the new forum. Something that was asked time and time again on this forum.

We also do not pay for hosting as I host it from my house. No it's not perfect, but it also allows greater control.

There are some drawbacks, but even at its peak, this forum had at most 15 active users. I believe we are at that point now with the new forum, just lacking the all important information.

As it happens most people ask the same questions anyway.

Also a lot of people have migrated to Facebook. IMO that's a good thing. The forum still retains true enthusiasts with quality projects.

If Seiki gives me the Database Dump I can look to ingest it into the new forum and hey presto information is restored. Seiki doesn't know how to. Seiki doesn't want to give me the credentials to do it. Stalemate.

At the end of the day, I have much respect for Seiki, I thought he would move with us as I consider this to be his forum. He's an Admin on the new forum but chooses not to use it. When I last spoke to him, Life gets in the way and this takes a lower priority. Not being funny but the forusm software doesn't look like its been updated since forever. I regularly update our forums software. We have SSL for encrypted transmission and all the features of this forum and more.

I want the best for the DTR forum. I've done my best to migrate it to a better platform so the projects can live on. We have a good base, if you wish to use it then please do so.

Hey guys, long time... I guess we moved onto bigger bikes? Would be such a shame to see all our projects and all this valuable info go to waste.

Everybody here was always friendly and willing to help with problems, Long live the DT125 community!

Takes some getting used to but it's better. Everyone needs to move to it.
