I guess it depends on how much thread is left... If there's anything still sticking out you could make a slot in the end and use a screwdriver but if that's not an option then the easiest way is probably to drill out what's left of the nipple. If you use a drill bit a little smaller than the threads whatever's left should be able to be pulled out with some needle nosed pliers.

You'll probably have to take the caliper off to clean out any warf before rebleeding though too.

Hope that helps a little...

Dave

Dont junk your old one, You can buy a kit from your local car spares shop or the dreaded halfords. that is desiged for removing snapped bolts, it is made out of a hard metal and has a reverse thread on, I bought mine for about £2, what you do is drill the snapped bolt so your new tool can fit in to the new hole, when you start to tighten it with a spanner the old bolt will unwind as your tool becomes tighter, Ive done this quite a few times on snapped bolts on all sorts of things, I think is quite a handy tool to have, even though i dont know what its called. Hope you can sort it and have a spare caliper

Some people call them 'easy-outs' others call them screw/stud extractors.

A soaking in plusgas works wonders too

To get a broken bleednipple out i do the following:
Pick up a dirt cheap set of torx off of ebay, you could most likely get them for a couple quid
Find a torx bit slightly bigger then the remaining hole on the nipple and tap it in gently with a hammer, then simple remove it.

I've done this for years, mostly on rear axles of forklifts and its worked everytime.

People do recommended ''easyouts'' but more often then not the break off, they are a pain i the ass to remove compared to a cheap torx bit.
