This is a good thing to do if you have a spare hour or if you have the bike in pieces for a top end anyway.
Pros: Faster acceleration, more of a powerband 'hit', easier to wheelie, sounds much better in the powerband
Cons: It takes 10 miles off ur tank range, it takes more skill to ride the bike, the bike will pop and gurgle slightly in the midrange before it hits the powerband
1. Take all panels off 2. Remove seat then tank 3. Slacken the servo cables as much as possible 4. Remove the rubber cover on the servo and slide it down the cables out of the way 5. Remove the screws on the front of the servo 6. CAREFULLY pull away the front cover of the servo and observe the cogs in the inside 7. On the servo cover where you have the protruding part of the device that the cables attatch onto, remove the cog next in line the the unremovable big one (it doesn't actually matter what cog you remove but my preferance is that one) 8. Store the cog in a very safe place 9. Reallign, fit and screw the two parts of the servo together, it can be a bit tricky, if you mess up and the cogs come out just take a bit of time figuring out how it went together. 10. Now do the servo cables tight, much tighter then normal but not tight enough to damage anything. 11. Allign the powervalve slider to the "hole" possition, you want the cables tight enough so that its difficult to move else it will move out of possition during riding 12. Slide rubber cover on and refit tank, seat and panels.
When you hit the ignition the servo will sound very different, it will be a quiet high pitched whirring noise.
Go for a ride, you are now able to adjust the powervalve to your liking, just bring a tool to open it and slide it into a new possition when you want to experiment.
you can do it on an 04 onwards (i say 04 onwards as thats what ive tried it on but should work with any dt with servo) but either unplugging the servo or disconnecting the servo pulley cables.. turns your dt125re/dtx into an old school dtr

This is just a little guide to how to set up the Powervalve, ive already tried this on my bike because it was running like a sack, 50cc acceleration and i suppose 50cc top speed (55mph ish), the reason for this is because it had de aligned and was only opening 2/3 of the way!
to see if it was my powervalve i pinned it open, the result of this is uncontrollable speeds, wont cruise under 6k, just dies, anything above 6k revs just flew fun but not usable, so from this i knew it was the valve, i wanted to set it up properly, so i started a topic hopeing that someone had a haynes manual, these are the pages that were sent to me by Ryan22, its transformed my bike! and its worth checking but its easy to clog up!
my bike now does 75mph and pulls like a train
these are the pages of the haynes manual to follow, it only takes 10 mins to check, and can be the biggest improvement to your bike
any questions, just ask, as ive already done it
hope this helps anyone who trys it:)
