The bearings and bushes are for the swingarm , when I got it powdercoated I had to strip all the old ones out . They were 19 years old so better to get new ones . Trust me I've tried every bearing specialist in the UK and none of them do this particular Iko size . Actually a few said Yamaha have patterned it so they cant stock it . Bushes are for the linkage arm
As for getting it downstairs it'll either be a front end off jobby and in the lift ... or bolt it all together and back down the stairs
Where did you get your Renthals from? I generally use B&C Express as they're generally fairly priced and very quick to deliver too, but I can't seem to find the DTR on their website!? :(
Loving the animations! LOL

Guess if we know of anyone with any tree stumps need pulling up, "you da' man" !
Good photo of the two, you really get to appreciate the scale of the 520 !
At a guess [no scientific calculus has been performed in order to bring you these figures !!] .. The 520 will probably rob you of a touch of acceleration & mebbe 4 or 6 mph top whack ??!! ... But it looks SOOOOOO Gooood & Is Sooo Strong ...
Who Gives A $hite ?? ... And i want one ..
Nay ! I'm Having One !!
[the rim tapes look Kewel as Fook Too ! ... Mumble .. Mumble !! .... ... I Said the Rim Tapes ... Look Sweet ... !!! ]
There ... I Said It !

yeah I heard my gearing will suffer due to the sprocket setup , that's cool though since I've never ridden a DT , I'll never know lmao
I got the Renthals from BC mate , quick service you're right . They came to £89 delivered , a bit much but OEM was £10 less , and has to be bought from 2 different places . You walk into Yamaha parts and ask for a DTX chain and sprocket , it wont show up on their computers
These were for a DTX so searching DTR wont work man , there's not much out there that does fit the DTR . It's mainly DTX or YZ parts that sometimes fit the DT , you just have to know which bits . that's what I'm currently learning . I used to search under DTR all the time and got fed up of finding nothing . Renthal don't make anything for the DTR . But get this , the DTX and DTR use the same rear hub , so why the feck isn't anything listed for the DTR ???!!!!
Yea, if you were running standard size chain & sprockets it would be easy to work out your ratio, in relation to your old ratio using the number of teeth.
That's prob' no longer poss' as the size of the chain / sprockets differ !?
So i guess the drive ratio will be the circumference of each of your new sprockets [at the base of the hollows where the rollers touch] compared to each other.
I guess we are so used to gearing up / down using teeth calc's, but extra / less teeth is just an increase / decrease in circumf' IF The Tooth Size / Pitch Remain Constant.
So if you lay the old against the new, and assuming no' of teeth not relevant any more .. how do they size up against each other ?? Remember, slight increase in diam' will be a large increase in Circumf' & gear ratio.
Would be tempted to gear yours down by 5% or so to give 'Quick' bike, rather than 'Fast' Bike ... Impressive round town accel' & fast through gears, front end lifting here & there ! As they are a bit shag slow out of town on the open roads / dual roads etc anyway, even on standard gearing, de-restricted flavour ...
The big chain, Will sap a bit more power than the skinny standard one, so performance overall will be down a few % .. But Fook .. i think we are talkng such small mathematical amounts, i doubt it would be even noticable to the ham fisted road riders we are !! Big chain MUCH stronger though, so for off roading [You... Off Road ... On This !!! ??? No !] , got to be better !? And Looks Waaaaay Better ... Which is why you have fitted it .....
You will be able to experiment with final ratios better once you get it out there, and the changes will be in Teeth then, as relevant to last setup you ran ..
Does the new chain have a split link ??
Kewel
Ps .. Im Loving the Layout / Font / Stylee ' of your recent posts !! !!
I knew you would buckle & get yer' own 'M.O.' !!!

Cheers for the sprocket info Simson , someday I'll understand it
Kinda stripping it down just to do some final adjustments , the swingarms at Yamaha with new bearings in etc . Put my discs on but cant find my new set of bolts for the rear one
Awesome project, can't wait to see it finished. That Polisport headlight is the same one I want to get for my own bike (only in black). Will it fit good?
Rolling Chassis , kinda , still need to tighten everything etc so it will strip down again in a day or so .
Not too happy with the headlight fitment , the clocks are too big , might remove them and get a digital clock .
Also annoyed the front fender is still not bright white , not sure what to do about that now . Was considering getting another colour . It's not fit properly in the pics , it's just hanging there with 2 screws .
I know some pics are repeated but I'm covered in grease so cant be asked to sort through them right now
Still a ways to go mate , this month I've mainly concentrated on cosmetic things so it a t least looks OK in pics . After plastics get here there's not going to be much more to look at
I'll make a vid obviously and update when it's finally running , but as for exactly how long , I have no idea mate .
I still need a **** load of bits and am skint again , also just noticed my ignition wires are fcuked , as in rusted off . So I need a new one of them now
Plastics and handguards arrived today , just about to start fraffing with them to get them to fit . I want the rear fender to point upwards so trying to figure that out .
Also you can see what the seat will look like now it's trimmed
Seat sitting more flush , the fender is bolted on yet so this isn't the final angle
Handguards , cost me £20 so aren't the best style or quality but F it , they work . Not fit yet btw
As uual I'll try and fit it all this evening and pics outside tomorrow
