I believe DEP do the best silencer for the DT125, however my silencer is in mint condition so dont want to shell out for one.
I have a 2003 DT125, I will be cutting my exhaust pipe in half tomorrow and removing the 2 half moon pieces of metal to allow freer flowing exhaust emsssions.
Do I need to do anything with the rear silencer performance wise? Im not bothered about the noise it makes, however If there is something inside that needs tinkering with for better performance please can someone let me know.
Most of the lads on here with the gutted front pipe or after market pipe will tell you to get a big one silencer, DEP silencer or an Arrow end can because it makes the bike run better with the gutted front pipe.
Ive never heard of anyone gutting or cutting up a standard DTR silencer but I think Baz has done it before so he might be able to help you out ther. I know myself when I remove the DEP and fit the standard silencer my bike doesnt feel the same and has slower acceleration and takes long to get to its top speed. I dont like it with the stock end can and always change back to the DEP.
