i pinned the powervalve on my bike open, **** me its quick lol, wants to pick up by itself in first second and maybe in third, but it cant keep a steady speed, now i no from this that my powervalve wasnt set up right, has anyone got a guide of how to do it properly?? or is it in the haynes manual? ive not got one btw, but the bike is to fast as it is, its dangerous and cant keep at 30 or anywhere near it!!!
if anyone can help me i would be very very grateful!
hey is the powervalve supposed to be visible when it's fully open when u look up the cylinder through the exhaust port? bc mine is =o and there is a **** load of carbon build up in there which is very hard to clean
with the powervalve pinned open you will get a nice burst of power but **** rideablility in the lower revs.. its the sacrifice you take... pinned half open is prob best for all round.. gain a bit of lower and mid power at a sacrifice of power at max revs

yeahh i tried that, forgot to post back on here its fixed. i think that opening properly is useless lol, if you have it set up properly ,you still get a surge of power (okay not the same as when fully opened) when its pinned open anything under 6.5k is just **** and jumpy, not good, if you change gear early to cruise you start falling back, i got sick of it after 20 minutes of riding round lol

this is why yamaha invented YPVS.. now you kow why they are sought after for earlier bikes...
also if your sitting below 6.5k your riding too slow!!! these engines are 2t and designed to be rev'd! having dunctional YPVS does help the top end last longer.. dont need to be in such high revs all the time...better fuel economy too/

Not sure if my bike has had it pinned open i know it will wheelie kind of when i change to second if i rev high in the gear change and pop the clutch. My bike will do 75 maybe 80 and down hill off the clock. Do you think it has it done?
