biggrin Hi, will someone please tell me any information/rumors or advise about changing the rear fender, I got a '06 plate dtx and would like to change it for a UFO or Aibrics one or something similar. They sell fenders for WR's and crosser's but can't find anyone who sells them for the DT.

pray.gifThanks

hi mate you can either have a rear grabrail off an earlier type 1989-2003, with old mudguard but you will need a tail light/tidy as your lights on top of fender, there are a few that fit some with a slight mod, yz ones fit or try this link

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLACK-REAR-FENDER-MUD-GUARD-YAMAHA-DTR-125-DTR125-DT-R_W0QQitemZ200427545411QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item2eaa69a343

you wont be able to use a grabrail with this one as it sticks out but can be fitted with a custom tail tidy under wink.gif

also this one going cheap

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REAR-NEW-FENDER-TO-FIT-YAMAHA-YZ-125-250-O2TO-07-UFO_W0QQitemZ140379585722QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item20af467cba

will need a couple holes drilled

there is lots to choose from they just need slightly moded wink.gif

Dont know if the lights road legal or if it has a number plate light, its from hong kong, but it seems very much like the light from the tnt one without the black plastic numberplate thingy, this one...

this one looks abit better...(legal) but more money.

I paid £16.99 + £2.59 postage from DirtbikeXpress for the rear fender

frogboy, careful with the lights m8, get one with the black plastic thing, its hidden from view by the number plate anyways. the tnt one from adrenaline is prob the best option, seiki has it, look at his

Yeah no worries, will post up photo's when i get around to doing it, hopefully next weekend(still need to order some sort of rear light), hope the fender fits without too much trouble confuse yes the TnT LED Tail light and mini fender assemby is proberly the best bet, just think it might look abit bulky that black number plate thingy, and i can't find the photos of seiki's bike anywhere pc.gif

hmm see your prob, how many wires are there to connect on the new one? if theirs i'd disconnect the number plate one and tuck it away and try just connecting the 3 wires onto the new tidy,

Right my plan of action would to find some female electircal bullet connectors that the ones off your tail tidy fit snuggly into then cut the wires goin into the current back light and then crimp them on and connect the wires of the same colours together by pushing them into each other and then i'd take the wire off the old number plate light and tuck it out of the way and it should work fine.
And to take your tank off remove your side panels and rad scoops then the seat by removing the two bolts at the rear of the seat then at the bottom of the tank you will find a bolt 13mm if i remember right, undo it and then turn the fuel tap to off and disconnect the fuel hose then the pipe will gently pull off.

woll explained the tank bit well do that smile.gif

dont worry about the separate lighting for the number plate light, they are LED they dont take much power to operate just connect the right colours up and crimp them together.

if the colours arent the same like mine werent lol guess til it works :D .... and then look at the installation manual and see that it says what matches what :D oops oh well done now!

Ok i got another question, if someone could give me some advise before i spend money on the wrong thing that would be great...

Well the thing is the fender i got is not going to fit without alot of modding, which i'm not confident in doing, so Seiki persuaded me to get this Hpires one . What I'd like to know is will i need to get differant side panels ? I'm pritty sure i will, but which side panels will fit on my 2006 DTx ? is it YZ or older DT models ? please give me links to sellers....

you wont need to change the side panels, if worst comes to worst DTR panels fit and you can cut them down in the same way seiki has done ;)
