Just to continue my piracy of this thread, thought i'd post up a few pics of what i've done today with my HT lead, also it will give me a chance to ask you guys if i've wired it up right biggrin

first i cut back the lead exposing the copper wire inside....

then i got the nipple off, unscrewed it to the left.....

poped the new NGK cap on....

fixed the HT lead back to the frame.....

dose it look in the correct place ? i mean is that ring/wire deya....

hey bud, that's exactly what i did when i had problems even got the same plug cap as you, way better than original tbh biggrin. As far as i'm aware the black wire with the ring on the end earths the lead so can go on either end. I had to lightly sand the areas of connection as they had become rusty and corroded, not good.

Can you notice a difference? Mine now starts 1st time which it wasn't doing before until i did all this, plus it now ticks over better.
