Cheerz for the reply malc. The waterpump is working fine, also thermostat is all good have tested in a kettle.

The rad cap is pressurising aswell as when i take the cap off it releases pressure so it must be holding pressure in.

when cold ther should be no pressure unless yor gasket is leaking and presureriseing your colant

i have stoped useing head gaskets on all my dts now i just lap the head and barrel with a sheet of wet and dry on a a thick glass, then asemble with copper silicone i also think the higher compression inproves low end power

Yeh i no mate thats how i knew it was defo the head gasket at fault. Just used that to show the rad cap was all good. The compression leaks thru the head gaket into the cooling system pressurising it causing the coolant to overflow.

Got my genuine yammy had gasket yesterday, the difference between the pattern one and the genuine one is massive id 100% reccommend a genuine part over pattern. The pattern is way floppier and thinner metal. Also the gen yammy gasket is black and the patterns are silver or grey.

PJME have said the head should be ready to collect today so fingerz crossed my bike will be running again 2moz and i wont have any similar problems in the future!!

Cheerz buddy!

I got the head back this afternoon, the bloke said it was badly warped so it sounds like that was the problem.

Got home quite early so i though bugger it ill do it 2nite. It all went well i tightened the head bolts up in the correct sequence etc, only took about 30 mins in total.

She stared fine, took her for a quick 8 mile rip and it was sound. No leaks, temp stayed at 1/4, no water out overflow and it ran really well.

Im gonna get some miles done over the weekend to give it a test. Hopefully that will be it now with these bloody head gaskets going!

take it easy on it fray, the honing that the borers finish the cylinder with takes a while to bed in with the rings,or the bore gets polished.
