the other day i was riding along in the rain and some nob going the other way sped through a massive puddle which went all over the bike , a split second later the bike startde dying but cleared ,

the nxt day i noticed wen going about 50/60 bike started dying down again so when i got home  i replaced the air filter ,went out for a ride was still the same, i replaced the spark plug still the same

now the bike randomly dies down when i pull away and when going 50/60 ish ,
i got my m8 to clean the carb out today and he said was all fine but now the problems even worse , was fine when i left my m8s then 2 minutes down the road dyed to a standstill and was smoking a fair bit then wouldnt go over about 30ish got it back to my mates and was pulling away fine then when u try booting it just dies down.

the bike was perfect before the soaking

any advise ?

Damp ht lead ;) my bike did almost exactly the same when it got wet. Take it off dry it out, then take spark plug cap off cut back ht lead until you can see copper screw back on, then clean up the fins on the igniton coil and the frame where it bolts too. That should sort your problems.

done the ht lead , didnt look at all dirty or corroded , cut the end of anyway but bike still has the problem , any other ideas ?

its really bogging down just after pulling away and is unrideable :(

iv owned the bike from new its been fully serviced , compressions not a problem ,
its almost like its overfueling but no settings have been changed , its like it cant burn the fuel fast enough

not sure how you know tbh. its an 07, mines an 03 and its never been replaced.

it might be, id go to a local garage and see what they reckon. if you do, dont follow on with them when they give you the old 'well i can book it in the shop for you so we can have a look' just say no thanks and go a diff garage. Just seek advice, dont let them try it they never fix it first time and they always over charge.

water in thew carb is a high possibility aswell, a lot of yams have problems with this my fecking 07 XT if the slightest breeze had moisture in the bike would somehow find a way of putting it in the carb, I had to start riding round with a screw driver to empty the fecking thing all the time.
