DT125 Engine Let go!

Hi Guys !

A few weeks ago i was riding quite agressive and im pretty sure that my engine has let go as the bike cut out and there was a clonking noise from my top end!
I have taken my exhuast of and had a little look up the exhaust port and this is what i have found ! More pics to come soon . . .

Looks nasty mate. Defo needs a fresh top end and maybe a rebore. Get the cylinder off and check and get some more pics up.

Will defo need a rebore looking at the state of that piston.. its fecked lol..

looks like another case of the piston colliding with the power valve, not the first time I have seen that...remember 'satelite1' ?

OUchhhhh Collision,, Top End Rebuild Incoming :P hehe, Nasty man, Hope u dont Need A Rebore, But it looks like the case here

But will it take a rebore? Think about it IF it collided before and you re-bore and fit a bigger piston....Dohh!!!

Only speculating but do you see my point?

seen quite a few thread lately where people pistons have been wrecked by there powervalve, what the hell is going on!

Satellite1's near enough had a reason.. full chat at 80 mph for 15 miles.. what did he think was going to happen!



BUT
these other two :/ weiiirrdd

This one has probably been rebuilt a good few times, 90ish year one. Maybe taken too far back. Hmmm.

Sarks isnt old and only 6k, his is the most mysterious tbh :S

mine just let go at 13000 miles looks like the ring wore past the limet then sliped past the locator pin causeing it to exit the exhaust port just pinned it all the way home

i can do 80 all day long now.. i regularly do.. not at 15 miles either. like close to 30 miles each way from the GF`s. done over 1K on my present set up. Very realible at 80mph, no impact damage either. kweeelioo


Soz to hear, looks like a P.V fail to me. Has it been over bored?
