de-ristricting DT125

does anyone know where all the  power ristrictions are on the DT.  can you please list them, and if you know how to do them, can you briefly explain them please.

i know theres a ristriction electronically, and theres a metal washer welded at the top of the exhaust that can be removed.

please let me know where the other power bands are?

thank you

Check out the de-restricting page on the website http://dtr125.net/tuningf.htm
Click what year your bike is and go from there, also dont do the inlet manifold mod or re-jet the carb from standard as they both dont make a difference. Welcome to the forum by the way

Looks like Dave bet me to it!!

Wire behind the clocks need earthing out, basically there is 4 wires going up to the clocks and they go into a connector block, but only 3 come out of the other side, so the wire that dont come out of the other side of the connector block needs cutting and earthing out to the negative side of the battery, or anywhere on the frame. the colour of the wire is black/green. Other then the cat convertor thats the only thing holding these bikes back :)

Really where did you notice a difference? Low down power? Top end speed?? I bought a spare and chamferred it down like it says in the guide and swaped it for my original and saw no improvement whats so ever, how did you chamfer it down? I just did it so it was flat rather then port it inwards, Now im confused as to if i did it wrong or it just dont work confuse Steve

Just cut the wire from the connector block, attach another piece of wire preferably black of same size so it dont stand out as much, then earth to the frame where you think you will get a good connection so obviously not on a patch of rust, etc

just saying, a powerband is not an actual thing, it is the range in the revs where the bike has most power hence power band. usually around 7-9k revs or soo :)

Exactly! I'll tell you what is funny though.. When chav says "My bikes got powerbands in every gear" Well yeah it either has a power band in every gear or it dont, you cant just have a power band in a set number of gears, it's all or nothing lol

Don't Listen to all these C*nts M8, they are taking the piss
 & ride Honda CBF125's anyway ... !

This guy knows where his powerband is, and it's fitted & working !!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAMAHA-DT-125-MOTORCROSS-FIELD-BIKE-POWER-BAND-/140440204569?pt=UK_Motorcycles

I always run the RED one for road use, as more durable for hard acceleration,
[but i keep a spare BLUE one under my pet crow's eyelid (he ALWAYS rides out on the DT with me !) for MX racing / superX / Double Backflips etc !]

The PowerBand is fitted just above & slightly fore of your right foot when your on the bike, it's behind the little cover on the side of the engine, just under the expansion chamber ... some of the cheapo DT's [Crap copy type ones, made under licence in SPAIN for fooks sake ! by i think YamMotoEspania or some such pants company !] .. yea ... the crappy copy spanish ones have the two stroke oil pump under this cover, but on the proper Japanese Manufactured Bikes ... This Is Where The Power Band Spins Around The Inlet Flux Reactor, Which Gives The Bike It's KTM Killing Top End Power ... !

Just make sure m8, that yours aint the Spanish one [have a look at the big sticker whatsit on the headstock ... Should say NipponSlittyYoks i think, nothing spanish anyhow !

HairdooDave ...

Had the top end off mine last year, after a bout of lameness & colic ...
Counted 23 Horses out, but i only put 22 back in, no room see ?
When head needs re-torque down, i might slip the last one back in, but it seems happy enough eating the grass in the back garden for now ....

no
